PBL
At SFS, our PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning) school wide expectations are:
Respect,
Responsibility and
Kindness
For this week’s PBL lesson we focused on KINDNESS, Encourage and support others. This was to tie in with our first ever “Dress as your dream job” day.
It was wonderful to see so many students and teachers dressing up and getting into the spirit of the day. The children learnt that we should never use a boy or girl label in a mean way to make someone feel bad about themselves, such as “Girl’s can’t play footy” or “No boys can come to dance club”.
The children practiced ways to respectfully stand up for themselves if someone was unkind to them. They could say something like, “that’s not true, girls can play footy too” or “Boys are allowed to dance” or “We can all choose to play the game we like”.
Here are some of our PBL raffle winners from last week who have been spotted demonstrating our expected behaviours. Well done to these children!
Dress in your dream job
What a fantastic day we had on Monday 26th May for our first ever SFS “Dress as your dream job”. It was amazing to see so many children dressed up as what they aspire to be as an adult. Even some of the teachers dressed up for the occasion.
A huge thank you to the parents who made videos talking about their job and sent them in, the children loved hearing about all of your different jobs and learnt so much. A big thanks to the parents who came to school and spoke to the children in the learning space in person about their jobs.
The children were very engaged learning about all the different careers. Learning space 3 were lucky enough to have a Mum and a Dad police officer visit with their police cars and Learning space 1 got to here about a Mum and Dad train driver.
The children came dressed as Doctors, nurses, teachers, surgeons, engineers, tradies, sports stars, pilots, police officers, business people, astronauts, vets and even a rock star! The children understood the message that boys and girls can grow up and choose to work in whatever in whatever career they choose.
Thanks to the following parents for giving their time and effort to speak with the children and help us learn all about their job. The children really enjoyed the experience and loved hearing about different types of jobs. Keep an eye out for the Cranbourne local paper this week which should feature some of out students.
It is not too late. If you are a parent who would like the opportunity to come and talk to your child’s learning space or homegroup about your job, please contact your child’s It is not too late. If you are a parent who would like the opportunity to come and talk to your child’s learning space or homegroup about your job, please contact your child’s class teacher to arrange a suitable time. Or if you can’t come into school, you can make a video of yourself talking about your job and send it to me rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au
Annual SFS Twilight Market
We will be having our annual SFS Twilight market this year on Thursday 6th November 2025.
This is an event always enjoyed by our school community. I am in the process of looking for stalls. If you have a small business you would like to promote or you know of someone that would like to promote a small business, please email me or contact the school for an expression of interest form.
The market will run from 5pm to 8pm and the cost of a stall is 30 dollars. You need to provide your own table, chairs, float of money for change and whatever you need for the stall. It is an outdoor market unless in the event of rain, will be held in the hall. There will be a variety of delicious food trucks to choose from and some student lead stalls from the Action teams. If any students are interested in having a stall they will need the help and supervision of a parent or carer. Applications for stalls will close at the end of term 2 so please make sure to get your expression of interest form filled out and returned to school. For more information, please contact me on
