Animal Studies

In this Year 8 elective course, students develop their knowledge and skills in a range of areas related to animal husbandry. Key topics which are explored in the 'lab' include: genetic engineering, anatomy and physiology. Students consider a Biblical perspective of breeding and discover different career pathways and connections with industry.
Field skills which are developed throughout the course include:
• Vital signs – checking animal health, feeding, shearing, medication
• Showing-off – exhibiting animals for show
• Ideal Pasture – Farm design & maintenance
• The Product – merchandising product to the College community & beyond.
