Leongatha Primary School Introduces Lunchtime Clubs to Support Student Wellbeing and Learning

At Leongatha Primary School, we're always looking for ways to enrich our students’ experience and foster a supportive, inclusive environment. This term, we’re excited to introduce Lunchtime Clubs—a new initiative designed to help students build new skills, make new friends, and enjoy an even more positive schooling experience.

Lunchtime Clubs offer a range of engaging activities that students can voluntarily join during their lunch breaks. From art and gardening to chess, storytelling, music, and sports, there’s something for everyone. These clubs are run by our passionate staff members who volunteer their time to share their interests and skills with students in a fun, relaxed setting.

The main goals of the Lunchtime Clubs are to:

  • Encourage social connection: By participating in shared interests, students naturally connect with peers they may not typically interact with in the classroom.
  • Build confidence and new skills: Clubs offer a safe space for students to explore new hobbies, develop talents, and express themselves creatively.
  • Promote a positive school climate: When students feel engaged and valued, it strengthens our school community and contributes to a happier, more respectful environment.

Early feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to attend multiple clubs each week. Parents have also expressed support for the program, noting how it’s helped their children feel more included and excited about their school day.

As the term progresses, we look forward to growing the Lunchtime Clubs program and exploring even more ways to enhance student wellbeing and engagement at Leongatha Primary School.

Stay tuned for updates—and ask your child which club they’ve joined.
