From the Head of Senior School

Mr Trent Chapman, Head of Senior School

The recent athletics carnival was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talent and enthusiasm of our students. The event was marked by outstanding participation and a vibrant display of house spirit, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.

Congratulations to Brown House for securing first place, demonstrating exceptional performance and teamwork. Dean House followed closely in second place, while Richards House claimed third place, each contributing to the competitive and spirited atmosphere of the day.

We witnessed remarkable achievements, with several records being shattered. Laura Klein from Douglas set a new record in the Girls 12 Years 200m with an impressive time of 31.37 seconds. Will Kline from Gordon soared to new heights in the Boys 17 Years High Jump, reaching 1.85 meters. The Boys 17-19 years 100m Relay team, led by Blackman, also set a new record with a time of 47.87 seconds. In the relay events, the Senior Girls Relay was won by Williams, while the Senior Boys Relay saw Blackman emerge victorious, showcasing their speed and coordination.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly to organize and manage the event. Your dedication ensured the day was enjoyable and ran smoothly, allowing our students to shine. Congratulations once again to all participants for their outstanding efforts and house spirit. Your enthusiasm and sportsmanship made the athletics carnival a truly special occasion.

Year 12 Visit to CSU Bathurst: A Valuable Experience

Our Year 12 students recently attended the Annual Facts About Careers and Tertiary Study (FACTS) Day at CSU Bathurst, marking their first visit to this informative event. The students were excellent ambassadors for our school, demonstrating high levels of engagement and enthusiasm throughout the day.

The visit provided a wealth of information about various career paths and tertiary study options, making it a highly worthwhile experience and a valuable addition to our school's careers program. Students had the opportunity to attend workshops, interact with university representatives, and explore different fields of study. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how the day helped clarify their future aspirations and provided them with valuable insights.

A special thank you to Mr. Paine, our dedicated Careers Advisor, and the supporting staff for managing the day and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Your efforts made this experience possible and greatly contributed to its success.

Congratulations to our Year 12 students for their outstanding representation of our school. We look forward to more enriching opportunities in the future!
