Investiture of New Student Leaders -Tuesday, 16 September

At this week’s College Assembly, we proudly announced and formally inducted the 2026 Student Executive Leadership Team at our Cranbourne Campus. This significant event marked a meaningful transition in leadership, symbolising the handing over of responsibilities from our current student leaders to the newly appointed team.

One of the most powerful moments of the ceremony was the symbolic exchange of seats. As each new College Captain took their pledge, they returned to the community by assuming the seat beside Mr. Black – a seat previously occupied by this year’s outgoing leader. This quiet yet profound gesture represented not only the passing of the torch but also the deep responsibility and tradition carried by these roles. It served as a visual reminder of the values that define our college community and the continuity of leadership at St. Peter’s.

Following the formal investiture, our 2026 College Captains, Will Cortese and Minh Tran, delivered their inaugural address. They spoke with sincerity and conviction about the significance of their new roles, expressed gratitude to their predecessors, and shared their vision for the year ahead. Their heartfelt words were warmly received by students and staff, signalling the beginning of an inspiring leadership journey.

Both Will and Minh have already shown outstanding dedication to the life of the College. Their remarks reflected a clear and ambitious vision for the future—one rooted in inclusivity, empowerment, and collaboration.

The investiture marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter at St. Peter’s College, Cranbourne. Under the guidance of Will and Minh, we look forward to a year of shared purpose and continued growth. The entire school community—students, staff, and families alike—will stand behind our new leaders as they begin this important chapter.

Together, we remain committed to upholding the core values of faith, education, and service that define our College.

Congratulations to Will, Minh, and all our newly appointed student leaders. The future is bright—we look forward to all you will accomplish.

Let the leadership journey begin!

RUOK? Day

On Thursday, 11 September, the Cranbourne Campus came together in recognition of RUOK? Day—a national initiative focused on mental health awareness and encouraging meaningful conversations around emotional wellbeing.

A highlight of the day was a wonderful morning tea prepared by our talented VM students. Their creativity and effort were appreciated by staff, who enjoyed delicious treats while engaging in genuine conversations about the importance of checking in on one another.

Adding to the joyful atmosphere was a photo booth, where staff captured moments of fun and connection. It served as a gentle reminder that while it’s okay not to be okay, we all have a role to play in supporting those around us.

We now look forward to continuing the energy and community spirit with this week’s Colour Run—a vibrant event that promises fun, fitness, and a sense of unity.

As we reflect on RUOK? Day, we’re reminded of the importance of simply asking, “Are you okay?”—because even small gestures can have a big impact. Let’s continue to build a culture of care where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported.

Father’s Day Breakfast

Last week we were delighted to welcome fathers, grandfathers, and significant men in our students’ lives to our annual Father’s Day Breakfast. Organised by our dedicated Student Representative Council (SRC), the morning was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for the important role these men play in shaping the lives of our young people.

The breakfast provided more than just a chance to share a meal; it was a time to pause and reflect on the value of being present, supportive, and loving role models in today’s world. The genuine smiles, conversations, and sense of community reminded us of the impact that fathers and father figures have in fostering resilience, kindness, and confidence in our students.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our SRC for their enthusiasm and leadership in organising the event, and to the staff, parents, and volunteers who helped prepare and serve breakfast on the day. Your generosity and commitment ensured a warm and welcoming occasion for all.

Finally, we extend our gratitude to all the fathers and significant men who joined us. Your presence is a gift to our community, and your influence continues to inspire the next generation.

Term 4 Uniform Reminder

As we begin Term 4, we remind families that students are required to wear the summer uniform, including the College blazer.

We are continuing the trial allowing students with PE classes on a given day to wear their sports uniform to and from school. However, there has been a noticeable increase in students wearing the sports uniform on non-PE or non-Pastoral days.

Please note: students have been formally advised that if this trend continues—or if students are not appropriately attired for College Assemblies—the privilege will be withdrawn. Students will then be required to change into their PE uniform during the lesson time only.

We appreciate your support in reinforcing this message with your young person, helping us maintain the high standards of presentation and respect expected at St. Peter’s College.
