Prep to Grade 2:

A Special Breakfast
For Father’s Day, we started the morning by making a special breakfast to show Dad how much we appreciate him. We cooked his favourite pancakes and served them with fresh fruit and syrup, enjoying the warm and happy start to the day together. After breakfast, we had a fun time making a personalised tie craft for Dad, carefully choosing colours and patterns to make it unique. Then, we all gathered around to build an epic Lego creation, working as a team to bring our imagination to life. It was a perfect morning filled with love, creativity, and laughter.
Footy Day
This week, we celebrated Footy Day with lots of colour, team pride, and excitement across the school. The students proudly wore their favourite team colours from AFL, NRL, Rugby Union, and Soccer. A highlight of the day was our special footy-themed lunch, which brought everyone together to share in the fun and celebrate Australia’s love of the game. It was a great opportunity for students to connect, show their team spirit, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Thank you to our staff and families for helping make the day such a success.
Literacy
Prep
During the past couple of weeks, our students have continued their wonderful work on Our Dragon, using it as inspiration to write their very own imaginative stories. It has been fantastic to see their creativity shine as they developed characters, settings, and twists. Alongside this, our Little Learners Love Literacy journey has progressed with a focus on the ‘tch’ sound, helping students build their decoding and spelling skills with increased confidence. Through engaging activities and targeted practice, they are becoming more independent and enthusiastic readers and writers. It’s been a joy to watch their literacy skills and love of storytelling grow each week.
Numeracy
Students have been exploring the concept of time, learning to identify and compare long and short events in their daily routines. They have also been developing their ability to read and understand o'clock times using both analogue and digital clocks. Through hands-on activities, games, and class discussions, students are building a solid foundation in time-telling skills. It’s been great to see their growing confidence as they make real-life connections to when things happen during the school day.
Congratulations Megan!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our student teacher, Megan Magrath for her wonderful contribution to our school community.
Throughout the term, Megan has brought enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a strong commitment to supporting our students’ learning. She has built great connections with both staff and students, and her presence has made a positive impact in the classroom.
We wish her all the very best in their teaching journey ahead and hope she looks back on her time with us as a valuable and rewarding experience.
1/2
What an amazing term we have had!
For Literacy, our students have continued on their little learners journey, learning and applying new sounds, spellings, and morphology rules. It is always fantastic to see how much these small skills translate into incredible reading and writing growth.
In Writing this term, we started with a focus on informative texts and our students wrote some wonderful info reports on sports and seasons. We then moved into to narratives again which we will be continuing after the break.
In Maths, we spent the first big chunk of the term exploring multiplication and division using a range of different strategies and materials. Since wrapping up that unit, we have also looked at simple fractions (halves, quarters and eighths) through the process of repeated halving. Over the last week, we have been building up some more knowledge of telling the time to the hour, half-hour and quarter-hour.
Term 3 has been packed to the brim with fun activities including the science afternoon, book week, karate incursion, grade 2 sleepover, father's day festivities, teddy bears picnic and of course our fabulous production. Enjoy some photos of the term gone by.
Thank You

It has been a busy and productive term, filled with learning, growth, and community. We are proud of all that our students have achieved, and we know this would not be possible without your continued commitment.
Wishing you a safe and restful break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a great Term 4.
