Fun – Rain, Reading and Remarkable Costumes!
Despite the wet weather, our Book Week celebrations were filled with joy, colour, and creativity! A big highlight was our much-loved Book Character Parade, which began with a very special surprise… The Leadership Team dressed up and performed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! The students absolutely loved seeing their teachers step into character, bringing the story to life with plenty of laughs and fun. It was a fantastic way to kick off the parade and continue the tone of Book Week full of imagination and celebration.
While we could not welcome families onsite due to the weather, it was wonderful to see so many of you tuning in via Zoom to cheer on the students as they proudly showed off their costumes. From classic fairy tale characters to heroes from new favourite stories, the creativity on display was truly inspiring!
We would also like to say a big congratulations to the winners of our Book Week Competitions! These students showed outstanding creativity and enthusiasm, and were proudly presented with an award and also received a book as their prize. Well done to all who took part. It was fantastic to see such wonderful engagement with reading and storytelling across the school.
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all our families for supporting the Book Fair. Whether you purchased books or generously donated to our school library, your contributions help us grow our collection and foster a love of reading across all year levels.
Book Fair orders have arrived and have been sent to students in their classrooms today.
There is still time to complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC), which closes on Friday 19th September, 2025 (Week 9). It is a great opportunity for students to keep reading and reach their goals, as every book counts!
We hope the excitement of Book Week continues at home with children diving into their new stories and sharing their reading with you. Thank you for all you do to encourage a love of books. Please keep reading with your children and listening to them read, as it does make a world of difference.
Happy reading!
