Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach Father’s Day, it is a special time to reflect on the profound role that fathers play in our lives. In the Gospel story of the forgiving father, we witness the beautiful example of unconditional love and mercy. The father in the parable welcomes his son back with open arms, forgiving him and showing compassion despite past mistakes. This story reminds us how fathers, through their patience and kindness, guide us with unconditional love and encouragement.
Fathers are often our protectors, teachers, and friends. They shape our character and walk beside us through life’s joys and challenges. On this Father’s Day, I wish all fathers a day filled with joy, gratitude and rest. May you feel appreciated and loved not only today but every day for the important part you play in your children’s lives. I would also like to take a moment to lovingly remember and honour fathers who have passed away. Though they may no longer be with us in person, their love and lessons continue to live in our hearts and guide us every day.
Next week brings us the joyful celebration of the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 8. Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is a model of faith, humility and devotion. Did you know that this feast day commemorates Mary’s entrance into the world, chosen to be the mother of our Saviour? It is a beautiful reminder of God’s plan for salvation and Mary’s special role in it.
As we honour fathers and celebrate Mary’s birthday, may we open our hearts to love and forgiveness as shown in the Gospel. May God’s blessings be upon every father and family and may Mary’s example inspire us to live with faith and hope.
With blessing and peace,
Nancy Kubti
