Year 7 Science
Year 7 students had a hands-on introduction to electromagnetism this week using the Van de Graaff generator. They were able to see first-hand how static electricity builds and transfers, creating sparks, lifting hair, and even making small objects move. Activities like these spark curiosity and help students connect abstract scientific concepts to real-world experiences.
Year 9 Science
Year 9 students have been learning about electrical circuits by building their own. Working with wires, batteries, and bulbs, they investigated how electricity flows and how a closed circuit is needed to power a light. This practical activity gave them the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge, develop problem-solving skills, and see the impact of their work light up right in front of them.
