PISA Participation

Earlier this term Glen Eira College participated in the latest iteration of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Created by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), PISA tests the skills and knowledge of 15 year-old students in mathematics, reading and science. The tests are conducted every three years and results typically shape federal and state education policies.
We were proud to have been selected, with approximately 25 of our students taking part. PISA representatives praised our students for their diligence and patience during the day, noting that we were one of the most streamlined and organised schools to complete the process.
While students will not receive their own individual results, their contributions will be amalgamated with those of students across Australia. They have also been awarded certificates of participation to recognise their efforts.
