Compass

We are excited to let you know that our school will be moving from the Xuno school management system to Compass. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to provide families with the best possible tools for communication, engagement, and support.

Why are we changing?

Compass is used by thousands of schools across Australia and offers a more complete, user-friendly system for all users, including teachers, students and families. Compass will allow us to retain key functions currently in place including:

  • Attendance and absence notifications
  • Reports and learning progress updates
  • News feeds and school announcements
  • Payments, event consents, and excursion bookings
  • Direct communication between parents/carers and teachers

There are additional features available through Compass, particularly in the capacity to track and monitor student attendance and learning data, that we believe will help support our teachers to provide the best quality education for our students.

What does this mean for families?

  • Families will no longer use Xuno after the transition.
  • You will receive clear instructions on how to log in to Compass, either via a web browser, or through the Compass app.
  • Training resources and guides will be provided to help you get started.
  • Our school office will be available to support parents/carers during the transition.

Proposed Timeline (to be confirmed)

  • Term 4, Week 3: parents will receive Compass log in details
  • Term 4, Week 5: teachers will begin using Compass for attendance (roll marking) and communication with parents. Parents will need to log absences via Compass, not Xuno.
  • Xuno will remain operational during Term 4 for the purposes of 2025 Semester 2 Reporting.
  • Compass will be fully operational for the beginning of the 2026 school year. Xuno will no longer be accessible after the end of the current school year.

What’s next?

Please keep an eye out for further information and step-by-step guides that will be shared with you shortly. We are confident that Compass will make it easier than ever to stay connected with your child’s learning and our school community.

Whilst we are migrating all data from Xuno to Compass, including student reports, parents are strongly encouraged to download your own child’s reports from Xuno and store them on your own electronic storage devices.

We thank you for your support as we make this transition and look forward to sharing the benefits of Compass with you.
