Attendance

Please report student absences via compass by adding an attendance note for the times/dates and reason for absence. If unable, please email the front office.

If students are leaving early, this needs to be advised by a parent or guardian prior to 12pm on the day of departure. We understand that things can happen that are out of your control, but please try to minimise students having to leave school early or having appointments during the school day where possible.

Students arriving late or leaving early must report to the adminstration office.

Lost Property

Have you lost something?

We invite you to look for lost items on any of our Lost Property open days. Dates and Times for Term 4 Lost Property checks will be advised as soon as possible.

Making sure all items are clearly labelled is the best way for them to be found or returned to you! Please try not to bring valuables to school that are easily lost or cannot be labelled.

Sick Bay

The College Sickbay Office is located in the Front Office Administration Building. Students from Foundation to Year 9 can attend the sickbay at times where regular classroom first aid supports (band aids, icepacks etc) will not suffice.

Please discuss with your children where sickbay they can find the Sickbay and the types of reasons they may require visiting first aid;

Students Can Go To The Sickbay/First Aid Office for:

  • Head injuries (bumps, knocks, concussions, or complaints of dizziness/blurred vision after a hit)
  • Bleeding that can’t be managed quickly in class (nosebleeds lasting more than a few minutes, cuts that need dressing)
  • Vomiting or diarrhea (student should be sent to sickbay immediately and sent home)
  • Fever, chills, or signs of being unwell (pale, lethargic, clammy)
  • Asthma symptoms (shortness of breath, wheezing, needing a puffer)
  • Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, hives, or any signs of anaphylaxis)
  • Significant injuries (sprains, possible fractures, severe pain, burns, animal/insect bites if swelling)
  • Ongoing or repeated complaints (if a student keeps asking to see sickbay despite reassurance and classroom first aid support)
  • Medication (if parents have provided the medication and relevant medication authority form)
  • An accident happens during recess/lunch time and the yard duty teacher isn't able to help you (and you are not about to go back into class)

Students Can Go To The Classroom Teacher For Help If:

  • Minor bumps/knocks where the student recovers quickly with reassurance
  • Minor bleeding, small scratches or paper cuts (bandaids and antiseptic aids available in classroom first aid packs)
  • Mild headaches (sometimes water, fresh air, movement, or quiet time is enough)
  • Mild stomach aches that improve after a toilet break, snack, or quiet time.
  • Tiredness or fussiness that may be more about behaviour than illness
  • Emotional upset/anxiety (comfort, a short break, or calming strategies before assuming it’s illness)
  • Wobbly Baby Teeth
