Principal's Welcome

Welcome Back to Term 4
I hope this message finds you well and refreshed after a restful term break. It has been wonderful to see our students settle quickly back into routine, ready for a big term of learning and events with our dedicated staff and outstanding teaching team.
Behavioural Expectations
At the start of every term, we revisit the high expectations we have for our students and their learning. Equally important are the expectations for how we learn together—for both staff and students.
This term, our team will share more about how we support students to work collaboratively, preparing them to be active citizens who connect with and contribute to their world.
A key part of belonging and connecting is treating those around us with respectful and kind behaviour. Our school values—Ready to Learn, Resilient, Respectful, and Responsible—reflect the expectations that you as parents, and we as educators, hold for your child and every child at Truganina P9 College.
The Truganina team looks forward to sharing more about how we support positive, school-wide behaviours throughout the term.
No Phones at School
As with all Victorian schools, Truganina P-9 College is a No Phones school. Students are here to focus on learning and to build strong friendships, and mobile phones can be a distraction. This term we will review our phone policy to ensure our expectations are clear for students and families.
- If your child brings a phone to school, it must be placed in a Yondr pouch, available for purchase at the College office.
- Students who do not comply will have their phone removed for the remainder of the day.
- Failure to hand in a phone will result in parents being called to the school.
School Uniform
Our College uniform symbolises our motto:
Inspiring excellence in learning to believe, achieve and succeed.
The uniform is designed so every student feels included, experiences a sense of belonging and displays school pride. Wearing it each day is a responsibility of all students.
This term, our uniform designer will visit the College to meet with students and hear their ideas about what they wear to school. These ideas will also be shared with School Council, ensuring our students have a voice in this important aspect of school life.
Parents and carers are asked to support our College by ensuring that their child wears the correct school uniform everyday.
If you need assistance purchasing uniform items, our friendly office staff are happy to help.
SunSmart
As the weather warms, please remember that Truganina P-9 College is a SunSmart school.
- Students must wear a broad-brimmed school hat when outdoors during Terms 1 and 4.
- Close-fitting, wraparound sunglasses that meet Australian Standard 1067 are permitted during outdoor activities.
Keeping Our Grounds Clean
Every student enjoys access to our outstanding, well-maintained facilities. To keep our school clean and welcoming, we will be adding more rubbish bins across the grounds this term. They are colourful and easy to see and we are looking forward to a cleaner and brighter learning environment.
The Truganina P-9 team and I look forward to an exciting Term 4 full of learning and celebration of our many achievements.
Happy learning!
