Term 2 Week 10

This final update for the term is coming from the library where we are currently watching the Australia V Paraguay. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the school this term, and an extra big thank you to the teachers and support staff who helped with our end of semester showcase last night. 

Our intention for the event was to give our students a chance to share the work they have done with a geniune audience and they wouldn't have a genuine audience without your support. Hopefully you had the chance to get around to all of the learning area displays, maybe you conducted a science experiment, checked out the maths manipulatives or saw the debating teams in action. Or, maybe you spent your time listening to the bands and watching our students cook up a storm at the pizza oven.

We do need to give a special thanks to the school council members who ran the eftpos and the ordering and helped to organise the whole event and an extra special mention to James Hardie, who put over 100 pizza's through our woodfired oven (and thank you to everyone who waited patiently for their order).

It was a great way to cap off what has been a really fantastic first half of the year.

I wish everyone a restful winter break and we will see you next term.

Monday 13th - Curriculum Day

Tuesday 14th - First day of Term 3 classes for students.

Looking even further ahead

Yesterday during our end of semester assembly I launched the changes we are implementing for 2027 with the students. Hopefully they came home and spoke to you about them. We will be sending out more detail about the proposed changes next term but the highlights include:

• Changing the day structure from a 4 period day to a 5 period day and reducing the session length to 57 minutes.
• Creating an Explore (7 & 8), Extend (9 &10) and Excel (11 & 12) elective program that allows students more choice and flexibility in their learning program

Staff will be working on developing our new curriculum in Term 3 for students to start making choices in Term 4.
