From the Principal

In Ignatian spiritual tradition, a pilgrimage is not only about where we travel, but also about how and why we journey. St Ignatius deeply understood that the pilgrimage road has the possibility of being truly formative through experiencing the inevitable uncertainties, detours and encounters along the way.
There is particular excitement and anticipation amongst the Year 11 student pilgrims who have been preparing for their own pilgrimage to Far North Queensland on Saturday. To send them all safely on their way, a special Pilgrimage Commissioning Mass was held yesterday with our participating students and their parents.
I am particularly thankful to our staff who so generously devote so much of their own time to ensuring the College’s Pilgrimage experience for our Year 11 students is so impactful. In particular, I extend my thanks to Janeen Murphy for her leadership of our Pilgrimage program and to Tim Chaney and Rebecca Marquardt for accompanying our students both in the extensive lead-up and during their travels.
We wish our Year 11 student Pilgrims well as they journey on Saturday. We also look forward to their return and to hearing all about their adventures in Term 3, ever mindful of how transformative the experience will inevitably be.
