Cupcake Stall 18th June
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Parents & Friends Association (PFA), our dedicated volunteers, and everyone in our school community who supported our cupcake sale at the end of Term two. Your time, generosity and enthusiasm made the event a great success.
We are so grateful to everyone who baked, donated, volunteered and purchased cupcakes. Your ongoing support is truly appreciated!
Reminder PFA is hosting another Cupcake Stall today (23rd July) after school
World Cup Viewing
On the last day of Term 2, our library was filled with excitement as students and staff gathered for a special World Cup viewing party. There was an incredible atmosphere as everyone cheered on the Australian team, and the room erupted with celebration when Australia secured the win. It was a fantastic way to finish the term together, creating wonderful memories and a real sense of school community.
VSSS Working Bee
Last Sunday, many of our Victorian State Schools Spectacular students, along with their parents, worked together to create props for the VSSS concerts coming up next month.
It was a throwback to the 80s as we created Boomboxes to be used in their performance of the song, ‘Hip to Be Square.’ A very big thank you to Jacquie, Connie, Iona, Em, Max, Julie, Peter and Marcus who worked tirelessly to create the detailed artwork to ensure our students are stage ready for Saturday 29 August.

ACMI Excursion
On 16th July, the year 3/4's went on an excursion to ACMI to learn about the animation process. Below are some reflections from the students:
We are going to tell you about ACMI! We learnt about animation and it was so fun! We played video games from the past; we made Lego stop motion and watched other people's great creations. We hope everyone reading this has a chance to go to ACMI. We enjoyed making Lego stop motion so much. As we were getting there we were so pumped. We were there for 4 hours and we wish we could stay there for longer. We had so much fun learning new facts and so many other great things

Today 3/4 went to ACMI. We enjoyed it a lot. We liked the LEGO stop motion and the video games. We learnt that the app Dragon frame helps you to do stop motion animation. We also learnt that there are lots of ways to animate and there were lots of cool things involving screen culture. Finally, we recommend ACMI to everyone. Thank you for reading.

Como House Excursion
The year 1/2's visited Como House last Friday 17th July to experience how life was back in the olden days. Everyone looked amazing dressed up in their historic outfits! Student had the opportunity to explore the beautiful old Como House as well as participate in historical dancing, playing croquet, wash clothing without electricity, and listen to discussions about life back in the day.
Y5/6 Conservation Conference
At the end of Term 2, Y5/6 students demonstrated their inquiry learning by hosting a Conservation Conference at Parkhill. The purpose of this was to share their knowledge from their inquiry unit, Wildlife Warriors, with our younger students who were guests at the conference.
Our Y5/6's had displays set up showing various endangered Australian animals that they had been researching. Information included examples of the physical and behavioural adaptations that animals had evolved to survive, while also detailing the different threats the animals were facing.
Y5/6 students were encouraged to answer questions from our young visitors, who were extremely curious about the animals on display.
A huge congratulations to all our Y5/6's for displaying their knowledge so well during our Conservation Conference.
