Lara Hooper Althetic Success

Lara represented NSW in Brisbane at two National Athletics Championships. The first one was the Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC).  Lara achieved a bronze medal in high jump with a height of 150cm. In her main discipline of long jump she jumped 5.26m, a PB, for fourth place.  She held the lead for the first two rounds against a quality opposition but unfortunately she was out jumped in the final round.  The gold medal winner jumped 5.34m. This meant there was only 8cm between 4th and 1st.

Lara then competed in the Australian Junior Athletics Championships (AJAC) at Queensland Sports and Athletic Centre. She competed again in Long Jump against Australia’s best.  Lara jumped 5.12metres in tough headwind conditions. She won a bronze medal.
