PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It has been a vibrant and busy fortnight at our school, filled with community spirit, student leadership, and the joy of shared experiences!
From the dusty tracks of the cross country to the quiet reverence of our Mother's Day liturgy, our students continue to shine in everything they do.
Cross Country Action
We recently saw our students display incredible grit and sportsmanship at the Cross Country running in Gravesend!
A massive congratulations to:
Daniel, Ey'lla, Kodi, Hunter L, Eli and Levi for qualifying to compete at Diocesan level in Cross Country in Barraba next week! We know you will all give it your very best - good luck!
Read more updates in our sport section of the newsletter.
Warialda Show
Our visit to the Warialda Show on Friday was a highlight for many. Students were up close to many of the animals and tractors and were able to see their artworks and decorated biscuits on display. Congratulations to all our winners across many fields and thank you to our staff and families who were part of the show.
These opportunities are vital for our students to connect with our local heritage and celebrate the talents and hard work of our regional community.
Thanks to the families who were able to assist on the gate to represent St Joseph's Warialda. This not only supports our school but also the wider community!
Celebrating Our Mothers
Last week, we gathered for a beautiful Mother’s Day Liturgy and Afternoon Tea. This event was particularly special this year as it was a true reflection of student voice and agency.
Our students took the lead in the preparation, from selecting the readings and music for the liturgy to helping organise the menu and catering for the afternoon tea. By empowering our students to have a say in how we honor the significant women in our lives, the celebration felt deeply personal and authentic.
It was a joy to see them take such pride in their hospitality and leadership. We thank all of the special women in our lives for everything they do and we hope you had a beautiful afternoon with us and a special Mother's Day on Sunday.
Our Facebook page features special photos of our afternoon!
Living Our Values: The Joey’s Award
We have commenced celebrating students who embody our school spirit through the Joey’s Award. This award is presented to those consistently following our Rules for Living. Staff nominate students throughout the week as they notice students, they then place their award in a box in the office and one student is chosen each week. These are all collected for a major recognition at the end of term!
- Fortnightly Focus: Respect
- The Goal: Treating others with kindness, listening to different perspectives, and looking after each other and our school resources and environment.
Congratulations to Kodi Allen-Grande our first recipient for being such a fantastic role model.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Aussie Helpers
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible team at Aussie Helpers. Through their generous donations of supplies and goods, we are able to ensure our students have access to a nutritious breakfast every morning. Starting the day with a healthy meal is vital in ensuring our students are ‘Ready to Learn’—it fuels their concentration and sets a positive tone for the day. Thank Mrs Moore who runs our breakfast club 4 days a week. Monday - Thursday!

Reminders
To ensure the safety and security of all our students, we would like to remind all parents and guests that any visitors to the school outside of scheduled assemblies or whole school events must sign in at the front office. This includes quick drop-offs or meetings during school hours. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our site safe.
Being a small school means that everyone teaches our students to ensure their needs are met through differentiated grouping during our uninterrupted English, Mathematics and Religious Education blocks. If you wish to meet or speak with your child's classroom teacher or Mrs Wait please contact the school office to make an appointment.
Mrs Moore and Mrs Redden will help organise a suitable time. Thank you for your support!
