On Friday 22 May, our school will be taking part in National Walk Safely to School Day.

The aim of this day is to encourage students to walk more regularly which helps to develop:

  • Safety awareness on roads and footpaths.
  • Healthy habits through daily physical activity.
  • Environmentally friendly travel choices that reduce pollution.

Eco Club News

Our Eco Club has been busy at the school garden, planting a range of vegetables. With sun and regular watering, the veggies are really starting to grow!

We’ve also been getting creative by building insect hotels using sticks, leaves, bark, and other natural materials. These small shelters provide safe spaces for insects like bees, ladybirds, and beetles. The students told me that insects are really important! Bees help pollinate flowers and give us food and many insects also  keep soil healthy. Without insects we would not survive.

Make Your Own Insect Hotel at Home!

You can easily build one yourself; see the instructions in the link below. It’s a great way to help nature right in your own backyard.
