Dear Parents/Carers, Students And Friends
Welcome back to Term 2 to our entire school and wider community. It’s timely to revisit our vision, pillars and values:
Our vision:
Frankston High School is a collaborative community where everyone is supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. We inspire the pursuit of excellence, continuous improvement, and life-long learning, preparing our students to lead and succeed in a rapidly changing world.
Our School Pillars are the cornerstones to everything we do:
- Excellence: Striving for the Best
- Community: Strength through Connection and
- Aspiration: Aiming High for the Future
We maintain high expectations for behaviour and uniform, guided by our School Values:
- Empathy
- Resilience
- Respect and
- Responsibility
These values underpin everything we do and are central to the strong partnerships we share with our families.
I look forward to working with you as we embark on another term full of wonderful opportunities for our students to demonstrate growth in and out of the classroom.
Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences
Thank you to the many parents/carers and students who attended our on-site conferences on Tuesday 28 April. Such large numbers clearly demonstrate that Frankston High School parents/carers and students value the learning opportunities on offer and enthusiastically seek teacher support to reflect on their progress, with the aim of continually improving to achieve excellence in learning outcomes. After talking to many parents/carers, students, and teachers, our school is going from strength to strength and continues to strive to meet each student’s individual learning needs.
School Tours
We have run a number of school tours with prospective families this term. These have been extremely well attended and there continues to be enormous interest in our wonderful learning community. Thank you to our Ms Samantha Cody and Mrs Leah Hannas for their efforts in organising these tours. Thank you also to the large number of staff involved in making these a success by running a tour group or organising resources, and making our visitors so welcome at Frankston High School.
ANZAC Day Recognition
We recognised ANZAC Day with ceremonies during assemblies on Monday 27 April. Thank you to Mr Jon Christie for organising the assemblies, supported by Ms Paige Jessulat, our Sub School Teams, our IT Team, our PE Team, Ms Kate Forsyth, and Mr Andrew McAdam.
Our School Captains attended the Frankston RSL Schools Service at the Frankston War Memorial on Friday 24 April, with Mr Jon Christie, Ms Tiff Greenhill and myself. Our Music students also attended and performed with Mr Ben Braithwaite and Mr Andrew McAdam. Our Interact Team also represented Frankston High School in cooking breakfast on Saturday after the Frankston RSL Dawn Service. Thank you and well done to Mr Jon Christie and Mr Michael Simmons for their efforts being up so early and there representing our school. It is such an important time to remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served.
Frankie Award | Frankston Easter Show
Congratulations to Eve Tyler (Year 12), who was awarded the Frankie Award for the Young Artist Prize at the Frankston Easter Show. This outstanding achievement is a wonderful recognition of Eve’s creativity, dedication, and artistic talent. Her success reflects the time, effort, and passion she has invested in developing her skills, and we are incredibly proud of her accomplishment.
Mr Andrew Batchelor
Principal
