Performing Arts News

Hi Tarneit Rise families
It has been another fun and creative fortnight in Performing Arts.
Prep students have begun some assessment in drama. When we assess, the students get to demonstrate all of the fantastic acting and performing skills they have been learning, and we have very much enjoyed watching our youngest actors performing ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ as their assessment.
The 3 Bears chased Goldilocks away!
Grade 1 are continuing their ventriloquism unit by creating their own short ventriloquism performances. Students are choosing to tell a joke or sing a song as both the puppeteer and the puppet, using acting voices and ventriloquism techniques.
Grade 2 students have expanding on the puppetry skills developed in grade one by working with scripts and puppets to create short performances. They are working in groups to rehearse a short puppetry script for performance.
Grade 3 and 4 students have been continuing their exploration into improvised and scripted acting techniques by looking at some essential elements of Drama. They have been exploring the use of space, setting, conflict and contrast through a range of engaging drama games and activities. The understanding and use of these elements enhance students' understanding and skills in drama.
Grade 4s rehearse with scripts
Grade 5 and 6 students are continuing their film making units. Grade 5 students are in the process of completing their shot and story plans and beginning to film their movies, while grade 6 students are taking their skills to the next level by developing storyboards based on scripts, preparing to direct and film their own short projects.
Take care, See you in the Performing Arts room!
