Principal's Report
Dear families,
Celebrating a Remarkable Year at Rockhampton North Special School
As we reach the end of another wonderful year, it is a joy to pause and celebrate all that we have achieved together as a school community. From our classrooms to the playground, every day has reflected the spirit of CARE, COURAGE and COOPERATION that makes Rockhampton North Special School such a special place to belong.
Our senior students are particularly excited to welcome residents from Eureka Village to the Water Lily Café this Friday — a first for our school, with 21 visitors joining us! This event is a fantastic example of our students’ growing confidence, hospitality, and connection with the wider community.
Across the school, staff and students are working hard on assessments as semester reports are prepared. It is also a time of celebration and transition as we recognise our Year 6 and Year 12 students and listen proudly to our future leaders in the Grade 5 and Year 11 captain speeches.
Our Prep Open Days have been a great success, and it has been wonderful to welcome our new families who will join the Rockhampton North community in 2026.
As this will be our final newsletter, we want to thank our families for their continued support and engagement. Moving forward, we will share our updates and celebrations through shorter information pieces and stories on Facebook and social media — keeping our community connected and informed in real time.
Thank you to everyone; students, staff, families, and partners for helping make 2025 such a successful and memorable year
Kind regards,
Dehlia Dawson
