Junior School
Years 7 & 8
This term in Religious Education, our Year 7 students have been exploring what it means to care for God’s creation. Guided by scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and the values of our Mercy tradition, students have been reflecting on the responsibility we all share to protect and nurture the environment.
To express these ideas in a creative and personal way, students produced colourful acrostic poems using words such as Creation, Earth, Respect and Mercy. Through their writing, they shared messages about protecting habitats, reducing waste, appreciating the natural world and recognising our role as stewards of God’s gifts. The activity allowed students to combine faith, imagination and persuasive language while thinking deeply about the impact of their choices on the world around them.

We are delighted by the thoughtful and hope-filled work our Year 7 students have created. Their poems serve as a beautiful reminder that caring for creation is something we can each live out every day, through small actions that contribute to a more sustainable and compassionate future.
