A huge thank you to some of our senior student ambassadors Haris, Halle, Ada, and Teagan, who came in on the PFD to participate in the final CE Student Forum for the year. Their hard work, thoughtful contributions, and bravery in sharing their ideas with more than 60 participating schools made us incredibly proud.
Thank you for representing LNPS so confidently and for the meaningful impact you’ve made throughout the year. Your willingness to explore, investigate, and collaborate with other sites highlights the powerful role student voice plays in shaping our school community.
The team did an excellent job in note taking, discussions ideas for the future, reflecting on our next steps and they providing feedback to other sites while sharing what we have been doing at LN
Student Agency through Podcasting!

Our Year 5 students have been diving deep into their inquiry unit, “Democracy in Action,” exploring the foundations of democratic systems and what it means to have a voice within a community. As part of this authentic learning experience, students formed their own political parties, developed policies based on issues that mattered to them, and ran full campaign trails across the school.
Throughout the term, the enthusiasm and creativity of our budding leaders were evident. Students produced campaign materials, delivered persuasive speeches, and engaged thoughtfully with their peers. Their learning culminated in an impressive showcase at Community Night, where each party proudly presented their values, policies, and vision to families and visitors.
This process led to an exciting next step, our first ever student-led podcast, featuring the party leaders and their media delegates from F14 and F15. Using our podcasting equipment, students took part in a live recorded conversation designed to mirror a real political press event. This platform provided a powerful opportunity for student agency, allowing students to practise oral language skills, respond to spontaneous questions, and communicate their ideas confidently.
Our four candidates - Hayden, Isaac, Eden, and Katerina did a terrific job pushing their policies and responding to some tough, thought-provoking questions from the student media team.
With the final election taking place last week, our Senior students attended the live press conference and participated in the voting process that follows. This hands-on democratic experience has sparked meaningful conversations, strengthened student voice, and encouraged active participation in decision-making.
