The Year 10 and 11 students are about to commence their “Head start” program whilst the Year 9’s are preparing for their first taste of exams. Our Year 8 students are preparing for their annual 3-day camp whilst the Year 7 staff have organised several educational excursions that are providing a great support to what the students have been learning in class.

We have almost completed our recruitment of new staff with only a couple of positions still to be filled. Once this is done, we will be in a position to provide staff with their 2026 allotments and then begin work to construct the 2026 timetable. This is proving to be a difficult task given that 44% of our teachers work parttime. A special “Thank you” to Ms Morante for all of the hard work that she is putting in. Staff will be allocated to specific classes as part of this process which we hope to have finished prior to the end of the year.

The Macleod College Music Academy organised its final music concert for the year which gave students the opportunity to perform on a “solo” basis. 3 different venues were set up and the audience travelled from one to the other depending upon who they wanted to hear/see. It was pleasing to see that over 50 students took up this opportunity which highlights the strength of our program.

The primary swimming program has also run in term 4 which has provided the students with an opportunity to participate in weekly swimming lessons. The primary staff are also preparing for the end of year grade 6 graduation along with the Primary Awards night.

On Thursday night we ran our 2026 Year 7 information evening which provided us with an opportunity to meet our new Year 7 students and their families. The evening was very well attended and I’d like to thank the staff that attended and presented on the evening.

As you can see, despite the year drawing to a close, term 4 continues to be a very busy time for the College and our students.
