On Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October our students brought the magic of Peter Pan to life in two fantastic evenings of performance.

We began the week with a full cast rehearsal at Trinity on the Monday morning. Students did an excellent job walking over together, settling into the new space and rehearsing with focus and enthusiasm. Their hard work paid off that afternoon during our matinee performance where we were able to polish a few final details before opening night.

Night A (Apples) performed on Monday evening and when students arrived in their costumes I was absolutely blown away by the effort, creativity and commitment they brought with them. The energy on stage was electric and every actor contributed to a truly memorable show.

Night B (Bananas) followed on Tuesday evening with students arriving again in outstanding costumes, hair and makeup. They delivered a performance that was cool, calm and collected. They carried the story beautifully and showed such confidence and teamwork on stage.

A huge thank you goes to the incredible team behind the scenes:

  • Nicole Lynch for coordinating whole school rehearsals and liaising with Trinity
  • Jayden Tebble for stage managing and other support
  • Sheridan Finn for her wonderful choreography and work with the Mermaids
  • Simone Kerr for supporting students with their singing and helping build their confidence
  • Luke Vare for lighting design and audio coordination
  • Kelsey Jeffreys and all supporting staff at Trinity for helping us make the most of the venue
  • Jess Mackay at Red Door Dance and Theatre Co for hiring us wonderful costumes for our actors
  • Our classroom teachers and LSOs who rehearsed with their grades and supported students every step of the way. Thank you for your patience and teamwork.
  • Our parents and carers for the incredible effort with costuming and for supporting students through performance week. You really helped to bring the magic to the stage.

Each year level brought something unique and joyful to the stage.

  • Foundation and Year 6 Pirates brought the perfect mix of tough and adorable
  • Year 2 Lost Boys were cheeky and heartfelt
  • Year 3 Toys filled the stage with charm
  • Year 4 Night Sky created a magical atmosphere
  • Year 5 Wild Warriors were powerful, bold and full of impact
  • Year 1 Fairies and Forest Creatures were wonderful during the moment we needed to ask the audience to “believe in fairies".

I was genuinely impressed with the growth in every student. For some, performing is familiar and they used that confidence to help others feel comfortable. For others, this production meant stepping right out of their comfort zone and trying something completely new. Every effort was valued and every achievement was something to be proud of.

Our dedicated actors gave up so much of their own time to bring this story to life. Abbie, Amahli, Asher, Ava, Betsy, Caitlin, Charlotte, Cody, Emy, Evie, Georgia, Harlow, Jazlene, Jessica, Kiara, Lena, Lottie, Lotus, Luciana, Luke, Madalin, Madeline, Mae, Marlee, Marley, Matisse, Mia, Monty, Peyton, Poppi, Poppy, Scarlett and Thor all did a wonderful job. Some of you sang, some brought the comedy and all of you contributed something special that helped make the show shine. It was wonderful to spend all the extra time with such creative and talented students.

A very special thank you to Abbie who stepped in as Mrs Darling when Caitlin became sick. She learned new lines and songs in less than a day and handled the role with confidence and maturity. We were all incredibly proud of the way she rose to the challenge.

A special shout out also goes to our lead actors Darci, Eli, Eva, Millie, Luca, and Tjay who carried enormous roles with professionalism, creativity and heart. You were the perfect Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Narrator, Wendy, Hook and Mr Smee! The number of lines you learned and the way you brought these characters to life was truly impressive. I am astounded by your talent.

Once again, thank you to every student, family member, teacher and staff member who supported this production. The buzz in the audience and the pride on stage said it all.

We look forward to creating more theatre magic together in our next school production in 2027!

The 2025 production of Peter Pan at Sacred Heart Primary School was an amazing experience for everyone at school. Whether you had lines in the play or not, everybody had the opportunity to get up on the stage and have a part of this magical performance.
