Police Visit for Science

Tomorrow our Year 6 students will be lucky enough to have the police van visit our school as part of a program to build positive relationships, educate students on safety and law, and provide a positive police presence. The visit by police officers Mel and Min will involve discussing topics like the law, their role, personal safety and a demonstration of police equipment. The goals include making students feel comfortable with police, teaching them about their community, and empowering them with safety strategies. A big thank you to our science teacher Anthea for organising such a great opportunity for our students.

Year 1 Sealife Aquarium Excursion

Last Friday our Year 1 students travelled by train to visit the Melbourne Sealife Aquarium. It was a fantastic day, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. A big thank you to our dedicated Year 1 teachers and LSO’s who planned and led the excursion, ensuring the day ran smoothly (and safely) and provided students with an enriching and enjoyable learning experience. We truly appreciate their commitment and effort. A big thank you also to our wonderful parents who helped out on the day – you were superstars.

Year 3 Camp

On Thursday 13th and Friday 14th November our Year 3 students will be staying overnight at Thomas Carr (Good Samaritan Campus at Coragulac). The camp activities will involve visiting the Twelve Apostles, Port Campbell, Red Rock and Gellibrand. It’s a fantastic chance for children to study what is ‘in their own backyard’.

The bus will leave school at 9:00am Thursday morning, but we would like the students to be at school at 8:30am. Students will return to school at 3.00pm on Friday afternoon.

Students are reminded that they need to wear their sports uniform and school hat, including a Rugby Top/Windcheater and a Rain jacket on the first day of camp. Packed fruit, morning tea, lunch and drink bottle needs to be in a separate backpack from their overnight camping gear and next day’s clothes. Sunscreen must be applied before leaving home Thursday morning. No extra food or sweets are required for this camp. No money is required either.
