Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays but more importantly, it is great to see all students settling back into the classroom ready for another exciting Term.

House Championship Update
Massive congratulations to Forsyth House, who have held onto the lead for the start of this Semester. With Freeman hot on their tails, the next fortnight may see a change at the top of the leaderboard.
Forsyth – 4177 points
Freeman – 4126 points
Siddle – 3812 points
Thorpe – 3795 points
Attendance
This year our aim is to improve student attendance rates to an above 95% average. If you student is absent please contact Kurnai’s absence hotline on 5132 3711 or contact Ross Johnson directly via Compass.
Uniform
As the weather gets colder it is important that students are wearing the appropriate uniform such as:
Kurnai logoed hoodie or puffer jacket.
Navy blue or white long sleeved undershirts.
Navy blue pants/shorts.
If you student does not have the correct uniform or needs assistance with uniform, please contact a member of the Year 9 Team.
Year 9 Camp
All 60 spots have now been filled for camp. In the coming weeks students will receive their 5 day itinerary as well as a packing list and rooming allocations. If you have any concerns or questions regarding camp please send an email through.
Learning Behaviour Updates
LBU’s will be released in week 5 of this term. I encourage you to sit down with your child and review their progress and continue to set goals to help them achieve their own academic success.
Around the classrooms
Relationships and Resilience: Students in R&R class have continued to build their skills, understand and knowledge of the G.E.M Principles (Gratitude, Empathy & Mindfulness) as well as participated in House Championships games every Wednesday.
HPV: The Kurnai Racing Team are in the final stages of servicing their vehicles before they begin to work on their presentations for the Energy Breakthrough Event (24 Hour Race in November)
SEPEP: Students in the Sports Education Physical Education Program have begun to plan their coaching lessons with a focus on fundamental skill development. Over the coming weeks students will be able to put their lesson plans in practice when they coach the rest of the class.
