Kinder News - Green Group

Green Group have had a marvellous fortnight of learning, participating in some special Book Week experiences. Some highlights from our fortnight included; a visit from S1, listening to a story about worries and making emotions bracelets with a buddy, visiting the school library and dressing up as favourite book characters and joining in the school parade, with smiles and high fives all around. A favourite book from group time was Bower Bird Blues, which is a beautiful story about a little bower bird collecting blue items for their nest. We extended on this by having a look at a real-life nest and what it is made from, with children identifying plants, bark, mud, twigs and feathers woven together. Children displayed great curiosity asking how birds can twist the twigs without hands, and we explored this through a time lapse video, with children displaying great fascination in the way they used their beaks and feet to weave the pieces together. Children will continue this investigation by creating their own nests over the coming weeks.
