Musical – such Fun on Night 1!
Our students performing last night had a wonderful time dancing, acting, singing and learning stagecraft at our first performance of ‘The REAL Story of Alice in Wonderland’. It was fabulous fun, with lots of laughs to be had!
We are looking forward to another great night tonight for our second (and final) performance. Many thanks to all the families who supported our school by ensuring we had a ‘full house’ for both of the evening performances.
Raffle tickets will still be available for sale again this evening at the event, with the raffle drawn during the interval at tonight’s performance. Many thanks to families who have already returned ticket stubs and money to the school (from envelopes sent out last week). There are 3 great hampers to be won!
I will have more to share about our Musical in next week’s newsletter, but here is a ‘sneak peek’ from last night:
6 month fluoride visit on Monday 11th Aug & Tuesday 12th August
The Link Health & Community Smile Squad team are heading back to our to complete six-monthly fluoride varnish applications for those students who have provided consent and received fluoride varnish at our last visit. Fluoride varnish applications help ensure students have the best chance of preventing tooth decay, so we’re excited to come back.
Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
The 2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey will be available to complete online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
The survey seeks feedback on school climate, community engagement in learning, teaching practices for student engagement and outcomes, and attitudes towards school attendance.
At ARPS we value suggestions and ideas for future planning and improvement and encourage all families to provide feedback to our school so that we can continue to provide an engaging learning environment and extra-curricular opportunities for our students.
Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
All parents will receive an invitation via Compass to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 15-20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September.
Year 5&6 Camp NEXT WEEK!
Our students in Year 5 and 6 will head off to their three-day camp at Kangaroobie on Wednesday 13th August. The students will have a very early start in order to ‘pack in’ as many fantastic camping events and memories as possible. Many thanks to all our parents/carers who have been helping students prepare for camp, with all the appropriate clothing and bedding. I am looking forward to having a ‘visit’ day to Kangaroobie on Thursday, and join in some of the activities.
Enrol Now for Foundation 2026!
We are currently receiving strong interest for our 2026 Foundation enrolments and need to establish how many siblings of our enrolled students are due to start at ARPS next year. I would like to thank those families who have already enrolled their child for next year. If you have a child starting Foundation, please ensure you have completed their enrolment form as soon as possible.
Uniform - Reminder
We continue to see a number of our students out of uniform on a regular basis.
A uniform dress code reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing their school. Issues of equality, health and safety, and expense are also factors that contribute to the establishment of the dress code. School Council has developed a dress code that we believe provides choice for the students, allows for students to safely engage in the many varied school activities, and caters for the financial constraints of families.
We look forward to parents/carers supporting student to wear Albany Rise school uniform every day when at school.

SNAICC – National Voice for our Children is the national peak body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, held every year on 4 August, is our national day dedicated to celebrating our children. It’s an opportunity for all Australians to show their support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and learn about the impact that culture, family and community play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child.
