Banksia

Lower Secondary Years

What a fantastic Term Three we have enjoyed together in Banksia Place! Our students have been busy learning, growing, and sharing many memorable experiences, and we are so proud of all they have achieved.

This term, our learning focus has been on weather and climate, explored through engaging English and STEM connections designed by classroom teachers. Students have enjoyed making sense of the world around them while building their skills in reading, writing, and scientific thinking.

Beyond the classroom, our morning sports program has continued to be a great success, giving students the chance to play, socialise, and establish positive routines that set them up for a day of learning. Our breakfast club has also been thriving, with students enjoying toast, cereal, and fruit while practising important life skills and starting their mornings with energy and focus.

Another exciting development this term has been the transformation of our Rhythm Lab room into a new STEM space. From Term Four, students will be able to use this space for larger projects, explore technology with MakeDo cardboard construction kits, continue our popular Minecraft Education Edition club, and design and code with our Lego Spike kits. To top it off, we now have a huge swing for students to enjoy as a relaxing break between sessions!

We are grateful to our students, staff, and families for making Term Three such a positive and successful one, and we look forward to all that Term Four will bring.

Thank you for your continued support,
