Term 3 Highlights

Book Week

Celebrating Book Week was a highlight of our Term. We spent the week reading this years Shortlisted Picture Story Books. Then we had lots of fun dressing up as a book character. The EHSS Book Parade was so much fun. Students really enjoyed dancing to the music and showing off their terrific costumes!

Physical Education

We started the term off with swimming lessons for each class. Students had a blast.

A few students also participated in a tabloid sports session with some other schools who joined us in the EHSS Gym!

English

In our English sessions, students have focused on Phonics, letters and sounds in a hands on fun way, which students really engaged in. We explored Poetry by reading poems, clapping along and finding rhyming words. We followed procedures, by reading recipes and creating some yummy snacks.

Mathematics 

In our Maths sessions, Students were exposed to calendars, days of the week and months of the year. We explored measurement by thinking about duration, such as long and short activities. We also participated in activities exploring sharing and then deciding if it was an equal or unequal share. 

Integrated Unit - Weather

We put of Scientist hats on to explore the weather this term. We complete experiments including a tornado in a jar and exploring the water cycle. We explored seasons including the Indigenous Seasons. It was fun to learn about Wombat Season! 

Reminders

• Change of clothes: Ensure all students have a change of clothes in their bags and return the school’s spare clothes when possible.
• School arrival: Class begins at 9:00am and finished at 3:00pm. Arriving late consistently can affect student and classroom learning significantly. If you require support, please contact your teacher or the school.
