Heath

Middle Primary Years

In term 3 we welcomed two new teachers to Heath: Fergal in 6B and Carmen in 6C.  They have been a welcome addition to our teaching team.

The students worked on the integrated Weather unit, where they analysed and documented different types of weather, sang songs about the weather, and completed art and literacy activities based on weather themed books.

At the beginning of the term, the students celebrated book week and had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character for our school parade.  They also completed artworks based on Echo the Emu.

We also had the Monash Children’s Hospital ‘Teddy Bear Hospital’ visit and parent Teddy Bear’s picnic. The students transitioned well to Peppermint Learning Place for the incursion and enjoyed talking with the doctors, helping their teddy bears feel better and playing games. It was such a lovely day for the Teddy Bear’s picnic with many parents attending.  The students made fairy bread for the picnic, and we sat on rugs in the playground to enjoy the food and the sunshine.

The students have also enjoyed weekly library sessions with Sue.  They have transition to the library in Paperbark and listened to stories, looked at books and had fun with hands-on activities.

Thank you to all the students for making term 3 awesome!

Kind regards,

The Heath Learning Place Team
