2025 Fair

✨🌱 Calling all gardeners - cuttings for the plant stall at the fair 🌱✨
Now’s the time to take cuttings of some of those beautiful perennials like salvias, buddleias, correas, lavender and more - ready to be snapped up at the school fair plant stall when springtime comes!
Make sure to label things, it really helps them sell - even just a generic name or flower colour is great.
Save your succulents for our kids potting activity (we will call out for them closer to the fair time, they don’t need to be in pots/soil).
Please nurture your cuttings at home and contribute them when we do a callout closer to the fair date.
For more info on taking cuttings, here’s an article from Sustainable Gardening Australia: https://www.sgaonline.org.au/plant-propagation-from-cuttings
If you have any questions, get in touch with Kate on 0421 632 074 / sunmoth@protonmail.com, or come find the garden crew in the school veggie garden on Fridays 3:30-4pm - always happy to chat plants!
First Fair Request
We would like to make our first request for this year’s fair!
We will be holding the famous cake stall, which also sells:
- Preserves
- Jams
- Pickles
- Chutneys
These are big sellers with a high price point!
NOW is the time of year people make jams, pickles, chutneys etc.
SO our first humble request is…
If you, or anyone in your family, neighbourhood, or friends is a prolific jam, pickle, chutney or preserve maker, we would love you to set aside any extras for us to sell at the cake stall. You will need to hang on to these until November when we collect the cakes, but if you can, we would be extremely grateful.
Important to note: All ingredients will need to be listed on the jar, as well as the date it was preserved.
Thanks for your help from the Fair Committee.
PS In the school garden last fortnight there was a giant zucchini that has already been made into zucchini pickles. How exciting!
