Harmony Day 2025
Dear Families,
Term one has been full of events. All of our students and staff settled in well and made an excellent start to the school year. Term 1 events have included the Open Classroom afternoon, 5/6 District Gala Sports Days, Year Level Excursions and Incursions and more recently, on Friday of weeks 8 and 9, the EPS Ride to School Day, Harmony Day Performances, Parade and Cultural Diversity celebrations. Thank you very much to Etsuka and the Specialist Team for organising such fun filled days on the Fridays. A very special thank you to the many parents who came into classes to share practices and activities about their own culture. The students and the staff very much enjoyed the sessions. Please take the time to check out the many pages and photos in this newsletter of these events.
In Weeks 7 & 8 students and teachers in Years 5 and 3 were working on a series of NAPLAN (National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy) Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language, and Mathematics assessments. One of our school traditions in celebration of their concentrated efforts and hard work is to treat students with chips in the park at the end of the 2 weeks. Year 3 & 5 students celebrated their success in the playground with hot chips purchased from a local vendor.

To coincide with the 2026 Foundation Enrolments timeline which will commence on the 15th April (please see the school Enrolments page for more information, Mary and I will be conducting Foundation Tours and Information Sessions at 9:30am on the 2nd, 9th and 23rd of May, next term. We will also be offering Pre-school Story Time each Friday morning for 45 minutes, starting at 9:15am from Friday 30th May. Pre-schoolers from all different ages are welcome.
Friday, the 4th April, is the last day of Term One when we will be holding our end of term assembly at 2:10pm. This assembly will include Leadership Awards, a report of School and Year Level events and activities from our School Captains, the Easter raffle draw and announcing the winners of the colouring competition. Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. It is important to note that Camp Australia will have extended care from the dismissal time of 2:30pm on Friday 4th April.
We hope everyone has an exciting, enjoyable and safe two-week break and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 22nd April for the start of Term 2.
