Grade 5/6 students have been learning about the element of Value in art. They have learned how to add shades and tints to their drawings to create optical illusions and learned about one-point perspective to create shape and landscape drawings.
Grade 3/4 students have been exploring Pop Art. They created 3D Pop Art collages inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's comic styled art and created repeated image artworks inspired by Andy Warhol.
Grade 1/2 students have been learning colours in Art. They created artwork demonstrating their understanding of warm and cool colours and made shape drawings demonstrating their understanding of complementary colours. This week, students explored the different types of lines they could make using oil pastels before designing and making an oil-resist Easter egg painting.
Foundation students have been learning about the colour wheel and have created rainbow themed artwork including rainbow paper mosaics and rainbow paintings. Students have also been exploring how colours that we view and use in our artwork can make us feel different emotions. They created oil-resist paintings of concentric circles, inspired by Wassily Kandinsky and paintings of colour monsters, using colours that make them feel happy.
