Creativity & Endeavour. Respect, Inclusion, Resilience
The 2025 School Council met for the first meeting with our new members on Wednesday evening. Thank you to the following people for taking on this important role in 2025:
Avery Poole - elected as School Council President
Wen Li Wong - elected as Treasurer
Bardo Fraunholz - elected as Vice President
Tamarra Darby
Chantal Carlsson
Anne Mologousis
Azhar Munas
Stephen Roche (staff rep)
Renae Greer (staff rep)
Extra thanks to Avery, Wen Li & Bardo for taking on the office bearer positions for the next 12 months.
At our meeting this week, alongside regular monthly business, we reviewed a number of financial policies and documents that are re-visited every 12 months, reviewed and endorsed the 2024 Annual Report (to be presented to the school community later this year), and approved some inclusion and wellbeing policies that had been discussed at a public meeting held prior to School Council.
Thank you to the magnificent Art Show Committee for holding a very successful event two weeks ago. Although I was unfortunately unable to make it to the opening night, I have heard very reliable reports that a great time was had by all! Congratulations to the winners of the various awards and commendations on the night.
Our strongest congratulations must go to our outgoing committee members - organisers Kathryn & Dorte, and also committee member Trish. Through a difficult period that saw the demise of a large number of other school art shows, it is testament to your skill and passion that ours has gone from strength to strength.
Thank you to Anne Mologousis who has agreed to be the new coordinator of the Art Show Committee - a major commitment, hopefully made easier by the path forged by the outgoing team!
Thanks again to all of the generous sponsors of the 2025 Art Show, including major sponsor, Bendigo Bank.
I was fortunate to recently have the opportunity to visit Box Hill South Kinder with the students from 6MT. I was so proud of the way our students interacted with the kinder students throughout the visit, seemingly just as excited to build, read, climb, jump, chase, craft and play as their little buddies were!
Below is a photo of expert Kinder Kid Entertainer Julia, who was one of many students displaying admirable kindness, inclusion and respect to her little buddies for the morning.
Great job 6MT!
