Year 10 Report

Siobhan Finn

Having spent their first term in the senior school, students have been considering what career pathways they might wish to pursue, developing peresonalised goals and considering what attitudes, skills and behaviours they might need to develop to achieve them. It’s been wonderful chatting with students about their aspirations and great to hear that many of our students have now organized placements for work experience that align with their ambitions. Any students in need of support with this moving forward are strongly encouraged to visit the careers and pathways team or myself for assistance, as the dates for these placements are fast approaching.

Wishing our year 10's a wonderful term break - filled with quality time amongst friends and family, enjoying hobbies and getting much needed rest. As senior students I also strongly encourage all to chip away at their holiday homework progressively to set themselves up for success in term 2.

School Garden – Student Snap Shot

Serika Lambert

  • I have enjoyed being able to watch how the garden has been developing since the start of this year and how our plants have grown. Being able to have my hands in the dirt and feel it between my fingers has been nice.

Darcy Wilson

  • I have learned how to take care of the plants and how to build garden beds. I have enjoyed taking care of the garden and watering the plants.

Student of the Week

During homegroup classes discussed occasions that students had demonstrated the school values throughout the term and recorded the students involved. During assembly, these students’ names were placed in a hat and one lucky students name was drawn to receive a canteen voucher – Saskia McCarthy. She had also received a number of merits from teachers, acknowledging her:

  • Support of and kindness towards peers.
  • Positive response to teacher feedback.
  • Consistently putting in her best effort during class.

Honorable mentions:

Rory Jones-Mullen - Always willing to give everything his best effort, seeking assistance and clarifications when required.

Noah Whitehouse - Noah had finished the Safe@work certificate in Careers and so helped his classmate complete theirs. Well done for using your time to help others Noah.

Bella Whitton - Thanks so much for the fantastic can-do attitude displayed in today's Food Tech lesson. Another excellent session where you worked safely and hygienically to perfect a tasty meal.
