End of Term Wrap-Up 

Year 9 Students and Families, 

As we reach the end of another fantastic term, it’s time to reflect on all the wonderful experiences, achievements, and hard work that have made this term so memorable for our Year 9 students. From sporting triumphs to academic milestones, it has been an incredible journey, and we are so proud of every student for their dedication and enthusiasm. 

 

NAPLAN Success 

This term, our Year 9s completed their final ever NAPLAN assessments! We commend all students for their focus and determination during this important milestone. Completing NAPLAN is a significant achievement, and we hope that each student walks away feeling proud of their efforts. 

Electives Recap 

Students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a range of engaging electives this term. Here’s a quick recap of what they explored: 

  • Active Lifestyles – Students have been looking at Sociocultural impacts and barriers to sport and healthy lifestyles. 

  • Woodwork – Many creative and skilled projects were completed, with students showcasing their craftsmanship and problem-solving skills. 

  • Food Tech – Budding chefs impressed us with delicious Hot Cross Buns while learning about nutrition and safe cooking techniques.  

  • French – Students expanded their language skills, gaining confidence in speaking and writing while learning about French culture. 

  • Sports Performance – A great term of fitness testing, skill development, and tactical awareness across multiple sports. 

  • IT – Students explored coding, digital design, and cyber safety, building essential 21st-century tech skills.

Core Subjects Recap 

Alongside electives, students worked hard in their core subjects: 

  • Humanities – Exploring history, geography, and civics, students engaged in discussions, projects, and research that deepened their understanding of the world around them. 
  • English – From creative writing to text analysis, students honed their communication and literacy skills, developing strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. 
  • Maths – A term filled with problem-solving, equations, and real-world applications, helping students build their confidence and proficiency in numeracy.

Looking Ahead 

As we head into a well-earned break, we encourage students to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Next term promises to be just as exciting, with new challenges, excursions, and learning opportunities awaiting!
