Junior School Report

As we come to the end of a fantastic and busy term in the Junior School, we reflect on the many exciting events and achievements of our Year 7, 8, and 9 students.
We began the year by welcoming our new Year 7 students to Woodmans Hill Secondary College, helping them settle into high school life with support from their teachers and peers. The Welcome BBQ was a great opportunity for students and families to meet, connect, and feel a part of our school community. The Year 7 Camp was another highlight, giving students the chance to build friendships, develop teamwork skills, and challenge themselves through a range of outdoor activities. A special mention goes to Nahte Wood in Year 7 for her participation in the Kryal Castle Chess Shield Tournament.
Our students demonstrated their sporting spirit and enthusiasm during the Swimming Sports, with many participating in races and cheering on their houses. We are now looking forward to Athletics Day next week, where students will have another opportunity to showcase their talents, represent their houses, and engage in friendly competition.
Academically, students have been engaged in their learning, and we acknowledge the dedication and effort shown during NAPLAN. Our Year 7 and 9 students approached the assessments with resilience, and we commend them for their positive attitude and excellent behaviour throughout the process.
The term also included an important School Review, where we reflected on our progress as a school and identified ways to continue improving student learning and wellbeing. Additionally, our Information Evening provided families with insights into the Junior School journey and future pathways. We are also excited to see the return of the Hands-On Learning Program, providing students with practical and engaging learning experiences.
This term, we have introduced regular Junior School assemblies to celebrate student successes, reinforce routines, and highlight our school values of Respect, Determination, and Excellence. We are excited to end the term with our End-of-Term Junior School Assembly, where we will celebrate student achievements, class merits, and reflect on the fantastic work that has taken place. This is a great opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of our students.
A reminder the school holidays are just around the corner, offering a well-deserved break for students to rest and recharge. We also remind families about the importance of wearing the correct uniform when we return next term, ensuring all students represent our school with pride.
Thank you to all students, families, and staff for making this a fantastic term. Enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to another great term ahead!
