Home Group Report

Gabi Dumesny

At Woodmans Hill Secondary College,  we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. As part of this commitment, we implement the Respectful Relationships program, a Victorian Government initiative that promotes positive attitudes, behaviours, and social skills to help students build healthy relationships.

This program is embedded in our homegroup sessions for Years 7-12, where students engage in discussions and activities focused on:

Emotional Literacy – Understanding and managing emotions effectively.

Personal Strengths – Recognising and building on individual and collective strengths.

Positive Coping – Developing resilience and problem-solving strategies.

Help-Seeking – Encouraging students to seek support when needed.

Gender and Identity – Promoting respect for diversity and inclusion.

Positive Relationships – Understanding the foundations of healthy friendships and interactions.

Through these lessons, students gain essential life skills to navigate social situations, resolve conflicts respectfully, and foster a culture of empathy and inclusion within our school community.

We encourage parents and guardians to ask their children about what discussions have been occurring in Home Group and to continue these important conversations at home.
