Principal's Report

Shannon Ross

As we come to the end of a productive and engaging Term 1, I want to take a moment to recognise the outstanding efforts of our students, staff, and wider school community. It has been a fantastic start to the year, and I am proud of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by all.

A special mention must go to our Year 7 students, who have now successfully completed their first term of secondary school. Transitioning from primary to secondary education is a significant milestone, and our Year 7s have done so with resilience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. They have embraced new routines, made new friendships, and engaged in a wide range of learning experiences. Well done to all of you!

Across the College, we have maintained a strong focus on entry and exit routines. These structured approaches have played a crucial role in fostering a safe and orderly learning environment. By establishing clear expectations at the beginning and end of each lesson, students have been able to transition smoothly, allowing for greater engagement in learning and ensuring that our classrooms remain respectful and productive spaces.

I also want to acknowledge the outstanding participation of our students in various sporting events this term. Our swimmers have excelled in competitions, showcasing not only their talent but also their commitment to representing the College with pride. In addition to swimming, students have participated in a wide range of college sports, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit. A special thank you goes to Ashley Vincent-Wade, whose leadership in our sports programs has provided students with fantastic opportunities to develop their skills and enjoy the benefits of physical activity. We are very much looking forward to our Athletics carnival next Wednesday the 2nd April.

Another highlight of the term has been the way our students approached the NAPLAN testing period. Standardised assessments can be challenging, but our students displayed determination, focus, and exemplary behaviour throughout. Their positive approach to these assessments is a testament to their commitment to learning and personal growth, and I commend them for their efforts.

As we head into the holiday period, I wish all our families a restful and enjoyable break. With Easter approaching, I hope you have the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones. Looking ahead to Term 2, I would like to remind families that the first week will be disrupted due to public holidays, so please take this into account when planning your return to school routines.

Thank you for your continued support of our College community. I look forward to another fantastic term ahead!
