Year 3 Update

Our learning Week 10
English
In English, we are revisiting long vowel sounds and practicing simple sentence construction. We are also learning to visualise stories by listening carefully and imagining what a scene might look like. Additionally, we are focusing on revising finished pieces of writing and publishing students' work.
Maths
In Maths, we're learning to rename 2-digit, 3-digit, and 4-digit numbers by using place value blocks. Instead of trading or swapping blocks, we're practising how to look carefully at each number and break it into hundreds, tens, and ones.
Inquiry
Our topic this term is 'How can I create a healthy me?'
Students will be investigating the connection between a healthy body and mind to contribute to healthy, safe, and active environments. They will also explore the importance of safety at school, develop an understanding of stress and learn strategies to manage it effectively.
Social and Emotional
In Social and Emotional Learning, we are learning to describe the kinds of actions that can hurt or upset others. We are exploring how our behaviour affects people’s feelings. We are also practising how to apologise in a kind and respectful way when we have hurt someone.
News and reminders
Drink bottles:
Please remember to bring a drink bottle to school every day. It saves disruption to your child's learning when this is accessible within the room. They are able to fill up their bottles in a nearby classroom.
Hats:
A friendly reminder that school hats are required to be worn during recess and lunch. Students who do not have a hat will have to spend recess and lunch under the shade sails. We also encourage wearing sunscreen and drinking plenty of water during the school day.
