Our Learning Week 10
English | To distinguish between fiction and non-fiction texts. To identify and describe the features of non-fiction texts. To understand the importance of fluency when reading aloud. To read words that have the long e (ee, ea, _y) digraphs. To create a plan and write factual sentences about a chosen animal. |
Maths | To recognise, read, write and order numbers to at least 100. To make and rename 2-digit numbers using place value tens and ones blocks. |
Inquiry | To reflect on our learning from the term and discuss some of this things they have learnt. |
SEL | To reflect on what we have learnt this term and play some of our favourite games focusing on good communication and positive social interactions. |
News and Reminders:
- Please ensure all your child's clothing is clearly labelled. It can be very difficult to find lost items if they are not properly named.
- Take Home Readers: Classes 1A, 1C, 1D: Students will change their readers on Fridays. Class 1B: Students will change their readers on Thursdays. Each student will bring home two Little Learners books: one at their current reading stage and one at a stage below. This approach aims to enhance their reading fluency.
- Term 2 begins - Tuesday 22nd April
- ANZAC Day - Friday 25th April. No students at school
- Family Teacher Conversations - 28th and 29th April. This is your opportunity to discuss your child's progress so please book a time through COMPASS.
