Our Learning Week 10

English 

To distinguish between fiction and non-fiction texts.

To identify and describe the features of non-fiction texts.

To understand the importance of fluency when reading aloud.

To read words that have the long e (ee, ea, _y) digraphs. 

To create a plan and write factual sentences about a chosen animal. 

Maths

To recognise, read, write and order numbers to at least 100. 

To make and rename 2-digit numbers using place value tens and ones blocks.

InquiryTo reflect on our learning from the term and discuss some of this things they have learnt. 
SEL To reflect on what we have learnt this term and play some of our favourite games focusing on good communication and positive social interactions.  

News and Reminders:

  • Please ensure all your child's clothing is clearly labelled. It can be very difficult to find lost items if they are not properly named.
  • Take Home Readers: Classes 1A, 1C, 1D: Students will change their readers on Fridays. Class 1B: Students will change their readers on Thursdays. Each student will bring home two Little Learners books: one at their current reading stage and one at a stage below. This approach aims to enhance their reading fluency.
  • Term 2 begins - Tuesday 22nd April 
  • ANZAC Day - Friday 25th April. No students at school 
  • Family Teacher Conversations - 28th and 29th April. This is your opportunity to discuss your child's progress so please book a time through COMPASS.
