Year 4 Update

Learning this Fortnight in Year 4.
English
Continuing their learning of narrative structure, students have been learning to answer literal and inferential questions about our class novel The Twits. They have also focused on handwriting with numbers and punctuation, identifying compound words, and improving sentence structure by creating complex sentences.
Maths
Students are continuing to work through the place value unit, focusing on rounding, as well as renaming larger numbers to work out all the ways they can be made using different place values.
SEL
To describe the influence that people, situations and events can have on their own and others’ emotions.
Humanities
Students have been exploring the importance of diversity in Australia. They have been learning to explain what diversity means and discussing why a sense of belonging is important for everyone in our community.
Crazy Hair Day
Cross Country
A huge congratulations to all our Year 4 students who participated in the recent Cross Country event! It was fantastic to see their determination, perseverance, and sportsmanship on display as they gave their best efforts throughout the race.

The holidays are a great time for students to rest and reset, ready for a fresh start in Term 2! A big 11-week term ahead! While there is no set homework, we encourage students to keep up with a little bit of reading and practice their times tables. Teachers will only check diaries if students have anything recorded. Wishing all our Year 4 families a wonderful Easter break! |
