This Week At OOPS

Harmony Day
The Old Orchard staff and students enjoyed celebrating Harmony Day as part of our Term 1 Wellbeing Day. This included buddy reading, learning about why the day is so significant, and how we can celebrate different cultures in our community. Some students shared their traditional dress and cultural heritage, wore the colour orange (to represent harmony), and also shared important cultural traditions they share with the families. Celebrating cultural diversity throughout the year aligns so well with our school values of showing Respect to Others and Respect to Self, and we're so proud of all of the families and staff who got involved in the day today.
Peer Mediator Training
Our Year 5 and 6 Peer Mediators and Wellbeing Captains have completed their training sessions and are now prepared to commence their duties!
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of dedicated and thoughtful leaders who are ready to support our younger students in resolving outside issues.
Keep an eye out for them in the orange vests at playtime!
Prep Discovery
This week in Prep, our Discovery prompts were:
English: Can you make the letters?
Maths: Can you build unifix towers to match the numbers?
Collage: Which of these things were from Tim the Magician’s magic show?
Construction: What does your house look like?
Dramatic Play: Can you put on your own magic show?
Fine Motor: Can you trace the patterns?
This week's Inspectors were Sienna & Evie (PNT), Owen & Chloe (PMB), Jayden & Sara (PBF). All photos were what our inspectors captured in our Discovery sessions.
