Our much-loved Book Week celebration returns in 2026, bringing students, staff, and families together for a week-long celebration of books, stories and literacy.
Inspired by this year’s CBCA Book Week theme, “Symphony of Stories”, students will discover how stories, characters and ideas come together like instruments in an orchestra - each contributing to create the ultimate harmony!
Throughout the week, the College Resource Library will become a bold and vibrant space with guest presenters, creative workshops, interactive activities, displays and opportunities to celebrate the joy of reading.
P-12 COSTUME PARADE & PICNIC
When: Monday 24 August (from 9:10 am)
Where: Front Courts (Fischer St)
Who: All P-12 students and staff. We welcome all families to come along.
Theme: "Symphony of Stories"
Food and coffee vans will be onsite and available to all attendees at your own cost.
BOOK WEEK COSTUME PLANNING - TIPS AND TRICKS
Here are a few simple tips to make Book Week dress-ups fun and stress-free:
- Choose a favourite book character.
- Start with items already in your wardrobe—homemade costumes are often the most creative.
- Keep it comfortable so everyone can enjoy the whole school day.
- Attach a copy of the book cover or character name to help others recognise the costume.
- Most importantly, have fun and celebrate the joy of reading! The parade is about creativity, not perfection.

Leave a lasting legacy through our Sponsor a Book College Book Drive. Families and students can visit the College Resource Library to select a book from our selection and have their name recorded inside before it joins the shelves. It's a wonderful way to support the growth of our library and share the joy of reading with future generations of students.
