The Book Fair and the Book Parade

Next Wednesday is the school’s Open Day. This is a great day when the whole community can come together to celebrate the power of education, and teachers get to showcase what your children have been learning throughout the year. This day also kicks off our Book Week celebrations with our Book Parade and Book Fair.

The Book Fair

Starting at 8:30am on Wednesday morning, parents and carers are invited to come into the library and purchase books from our wonderful booksellers at Burns Bay Bookery. Karen, Beatle, and their team will be at the school selling books to take home, as well as books you can donate to the school. For more information, please see the flyers below.

We hope your costume preparations are going well! Remember, this year’s theme is Symphony of Stories, which celebrates the power of books and music as storytelling mediums. It also highlights how music enhances the stories we read, the TV shows and movies we watch, and how it enriches the audiobook genre.

To align with this theme, we are asking students and families to think of colourful or musical characters, such as Pippi Longstocking or Hatsune Miku. As part of the costume, students and families are invited to march with album covers rather than books. These album covers might feature songs from TV shows or movies based on the books, or simply music that you associate with that character.

The library team and teachers are hoping that as many students as possible will join us by dressing up as their favourite characters and parading together. Until next week, keep on reading.
