Principal message

Dear Staff, Students & Families,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend, and I extend my gratitude to our families for your support during our Whole School Closure Day last Friday.

Our Staff Professional Learning Day proved to be immensely valuable, with three key sessions enriching our understanding. Guided by LaTrobe University senior lecturer, Dr. Kristina Turner, our first session delved into the role of positive psychology strategies to enhance staff wellbeing. The aim is to create an environment where staff can thrive, ultimately better supporting our students in their journey to success. This session not only explored evidence-based strategies but also solidified our commitment to integrating them into our daily practices.

The second session, facilitated by The Resilience Project (TRP) team, marked the beginning of a school-wide, evidence-based Teaching and Learning Program. Weekly lessons and activities centred around the principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM), and Emotional Literacy will be integrated into our classrooms, staffroom, and school community. We're excited to share this journey with you at home, offering valuable tips, strategies, and links to videos and resources on the wellbeing page of each newsletter.

The third session, led by Catholic Education Sandhurst Student Pastoral Wellbeing staff Frances Browne and Megan Gerrish, delved into various factors influencing student conduct. We explored collaborative strategies to support the unique needs of our students and empower both staff and students alike.

On a different note, we were thrilled to unveil the exciting overview of our Cross Country - Caritas Fundraising efforts last Friday. We anticipate a fantastic day on Friday, March 22.

In Faith and Community,

Tim Edwards
