DEADLY THINKING YOUTH WORKSHOP

Deadly Thinking Youth Workshop at KSC.

On March 1st, we had our much-anticipated reunification with highly regarded social worker AJ Tchen-Williams from Girraway Ganyi Consulting, and Ash Tchen-Williams. The workshop activities centred around the theme of cultural safety.

The day began with a beautiful Welcome to Bunurong Country and Smoking Ceremony by Traditional Custodian and school parent Jarrod West. Thank you to Jarrod who gifted us some ochre, which was used to paint participants during the workshop, and to Michelle Debenham of WellWays Australia who provided some delicious food.

Learning through culture is highly valued at KSC, and collaborating with community partners provides greater opportunities for KSC Yarning Circle students to learn about themselves and to be part of a generation who can now be expected to finish secondary education with improved experiences in the education system.
